On August 10, 2012, at the age of 80+, Peaches Davis debuted in her first speaking role in a major motion picture. Peaches now qualifies for membership in the prestigious Screen Actors Guild. Acting in movies was a lifelong dream of Peaches, but she never really pursued that dream until after she retired. She started out with stage productions. When the movie industry blossomed in Louisiana, she started pursuing film roles. She also started winning awards. We all know that sometimes reality gets in the way of life’s dreams, but it was her life experiences that helped Peaches succeed in the movies. A former seamstress, Peaches likes to create her own costumes. She even keeps a sewing machine in her camper, when filming requires extended stays away from home. Although she doesn’t have formal training as an actor, she has drive, determination and desire. And she has the life experience to see more than roles written in the script. She can see the character brought to life. With over 300 films through her credit, Peaches has made a career out of a dream. She’s right where she wants to be… in the movies. Congratulations, Peaches. We’ll look for you on the big screen. I’ve always wanted to be in the movies, and now I’m living my dream.
