qualified professionals to inspect and maintain a variety of aircraft. From fixed-wing aircraft to rotary wing aircraft we offer hands-on quality experience to
students helping them to acquire the necessary
skills in today’s competitive aerospace job market. Big Bend Community
College is located in Moses Lake Washington at the Grant County
International Airport which is a well-known test site for large aviation companies such as the Boeing
Company, the United States Air Force and Navy, Aviation Technical Services and other
aerospace flight testing companies. Ask around aviation industry. You’ll hear Big Bend’s name pop up. Our qualified instructors have over 75 years of combined experience in the aerospace industry, providing
students with a wealth of real-world examples and techniques they
can apply in their own work environment Moses Lake is an up-and-coming location
for aviation companies in the Grant County vicinity. Recently, Aviation Technical Services and Aerotech have signed long-term leases with the port authority for hangar space at Grant County International Airport BBCC has established the great internship
program with Aviation Technical Services so our students can go to school and
work while receiving hands-on real-world experience and a paycheck. Grant county is also in
the running to become a drone test facility, which is becoming the newest wave of the
future for aerospace commercial applications Aviation is entering into a new phase of
Technology with the growing interest in composite
manufacturing, Big Bend is expanding its composite
program to better prepare our students to enter the
aerospace world of tomorrow Because composite technology is such a
new field of study the opportunities for employment within
the industry are not limited to only repair aircraft. Non-destructive testing and inspection are also some the latest
new technologies that are needed in the commercial airline industry. Big Bend’s AMT program offers a vast array of learning environments. From small general aviation aircraft, large transport category aircraft,
homebuilt aircraft, crop duster aircraft and helicopter
training as well Large or small fixed-wing, rotorcraft, land or sea, we will train
you to be the best Maintenance Technician on a vast variety of aircraft types. Part of being the best aircraft mechanic is knowing how to use
the proper tools for the training Nothing take more precedence than knowing how to use the
aircraft maintenance manual to do the job right and safely. Hard-copy maintance manuals can cumbersome to continually carry around, while working on different aircraft and
different locations. With the addition of four new computers
on wheels, students now have access to electronic
portable maintenance manuals, making workload easier and more efficient. Especially when you’re outside on the
ramp area where the Boeing 727 sits. In just two years and fraction of the cost compared to
other schools, students can acquire their air frame and power plant licences. The opportunities are endless as you can work anywhere in the world as long as aircraft are present. Students can feel confident they will be prepared for what ever the future in aero space may bring.
