Alpena Community College Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Hi my name is Mahina Abdullojonova.
I am from Tajikistan. I am currently an international student at Alpena Community College. I am doing my associates in liberal arts and planning
to do my bachelor’s on international relations. Being rewarded with an ACC Scholarship
means a lot to me. It proves to me that all of my hard work don’t go unnoticed. The scholarships help me to work less hours than I had to And to
worry less about financial situation and Focus more on after-school activities
like my extra cultural activities Joining the Student Leadership
Commission and The Language Society. I’m Sheldon Elkie and I’m in the pre-occupational therapy program And also getting my associate degree in science. This scholarship means a lot to me, it proves the people in the community support what I am doing and what other people are doing at the college. This scholarship has allowed me to focus on just doing my schooling and it allows me to not have
to worry about going to work. These scholarships have really helped me and
my family not have to worry about dealing with lots of debt or stressing
about how they’re gonna pay for my schooling. My name is Mary Myers and I’m
a student at Alpena Community College in the bachelors program in Electrical Systems Technology. Being a recipient of a scholarship can
really go a long way. It helps me relieve the stress and
burden of having to worry about how I’m gonna pay for my schooling how am I
gonna be able to afford to take those classes I need next semester and with
having that relief for my scholarship it’s freed up time so I don’t have to
work as much while I’m going to school but it also gives me the time so I can
focus on tutoring and helping my peers achieve their career – which truly means
a lot to me to see them exceed as well but it also relieves financial burdens
from my parents – because when I graduated from high school I didn’t know
if I wanted to attend college or anything or even how I was going to be
able to afford it but applying for scholarships has truly helped me a long
way and with that I am graduating May 10, 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Systems Technology. My name is Benjamin Gould, my area of study is nursing. This scholarship has really taken a financial burden off of my wife and I’s family. It’s really allowed me to focus on my studies so I can put my all into my education, So the scholarship has really taken a lot of the financial burden off of my wife and I. I work just about full-time as an exercise
physiologist at Performance Locker here in town, So really this, I would say surplus of money, has taken some of the anxiety out of the day-to-day for my
life really. I want to thank the continued generosity of the current
donors, present and past, that have allowed this financial surplus for
students who want to continue higher education. It really does make a difference and your legacy will be stamped on this community for the years to come. I just want to thank everybody who supported me and people who actually
believe in me by giving me their scholarships to support my studying and help me out to get my degree at ACC, that’s great. I’d like to say thank you
to all the people who provide these great scholarships. But I’d just truly like
to say thank you because you guys have helped me accomplish my dreams that I
didn’t think was possible so thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
